LCR

Strategic advice for a rapidly evolving organisation

Context and Objectives

Following the sale of the 30-year concession of High Speed 1 in 2010, LCR – the Government-owned infrastructure manager and developer – needed to re-focus from rail delivery to cementing its growing national reputation for exemplary property development and land regeneration within a railway context.

The LCA Role

LCA has worked with LCR since 2000 and our brief has evolved many times. In 2005 we handled the media relations for the International Olympic Committee’s trip through the London Tunnels of HS1; we then managed the media programme for the entire HS1 project through to the Royal Opening of St Pancras International in 2007; followed by developing the station’s reputation as a retail destination in its own right. Since the sale of the HS1 concession in 2010, our brief has been to advise on strategic positioning and corporate communications. By using our understanding of the property sector, the political environment and LCR’s operation and evolving objectives, LCA currently runs LCR’s press office for projects in London and beyond; supports LCR’s programme at MIPIM and other events; and advises on opportunities associated with HS2 growth and more generally public sector land.

Results Delivered

LCA has successfully managed and promoted LCR’s reputation as landowner and joint venture partner on a number of high profile regeneration programmes in the capital including King’s Cross, the International Quarter London, and Waterloo. LCA has also helped to develop relationships with other cities and regions outside of London including Manchester, Leeds and Worthing. In 2017, we produced a corporate brochure for LCR to showcase its embedded commercial and development experience and expertise to stakeholders.
