Nick joined LCA in June 2023 after a period running the think tank Centre for London, and working for over a decade for Sadiq Khan, including five years as his Director of Policy at City Hall. He has worked in London for over twenty years in trade bodies, on campaigns, for the Labour Party, in Parliament as well as at the GLA. He is well known in London public policy and political circles and brings to LCA his deep knowledge of London and his extensive networks across the city and beyond.
Nick leads our Insight function, which gathers intelligence and undertakes research to support our work with clients, a crucial area of work which stands LCA out from our competitors. He also edits our weekly LDN London in Short newsletter, our indispensable summary of policy and political goings on in the city.
When he’s not working, Nick is bossed around by his grumpy cat Oscar, tends to his little garden in SE London, plays (poorly) the accordion and is planning his next major train holiday adventure. He’s a politics nerd, loves collecting trivia on all things London, is an avid reader and a lifelong follower of the mighty Rotherham United.
Nick has a degree in maths and geography from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and PhD in economic geography from the University of Sheffield.
