Daniel joined LCA in April 2023 having spent four years in freelance journalism and most recently in political events production.
He joins LA’s Insight team monitoring national and regional politics, as well as developments within the built environment sector and London’s local government. Daniel assists with the publication of LCA’s weekly newsletter LDN and regular insight reporting and research for the wider team and clients.
Daniel has a degree in History and Politics from the University of Portsmouth and stayed on to complete a MRes in History in 2017.
His portfolio of work in journalism includes a broad range of political opinion and features articles in publications including Metro, the i, Prospect Magazine, Daily Mirror and Reader’s Digest. His most recent work has focused on the policy and current affairs of English local councils. He has also been employed as a freelance news reporter for the Independent.
Daniel is a self-confessed politics nerd and maintains a strong interest in local government, housing and ‘levelling up’. When detached from the political world, he enjoys going to jazz, classical and retro music concerts, playing strategy games and strolling around museums and art galleries. He is also the co-host of a dating and relationships podcast called The Love Cupboard.
