The Summer is almost over and we are delighted to be back with the latest issue of LDN - London in short.

Whilst usually a more quiet period, we have just lived through the craziest time in politics any of us can remember.  Since our last edition before the Summer, the impact of the Brexit vote has truly rippled through the country.  We have a new Prime Minister and Cabinet (who of us would have predicted Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary!), a leadership challenge to Jeremy Corbyn which is threatening to tear the Party apart and real uncertainty about the true impact of Brexit on the London economy as the reality of trying square the circle of border control with free market access sinks in.

Meanwhile Sadiq has completed the appointments of his top team and celebrated his first hundred days in office as speculation is rife over the future direction of housing policy.

There has also been much to keep us entertained – night crawlers can travel at all hours thanks to the Night Tube and as our front cover shows, Artichoke's London's Burning Festival came to a spectacular close with the burn of a London 1666 skyline sculpture.  We feature both the Totally Thames and London Design festivals in our Culture section.

We hope you enjoy this issue of LDN. As ever, we welcome your comments on our free monthly news magazine and any colleagues who want to, can sign up to receive LDN – London in Short click here.
