It has been an extremely challenging time for London and for obvious reasons this edition of LDN – London in short comes to you a little later in the month than usual.

It is with heavy hearts that we have summarised the latest facts on the tragedy of Grenfell Tower, along with some details for how to help. We have also covered the horrific events at London Bridge and more recently in Finsbury Park.

Somehow against all of this, our election results briefing seems like light relief. We have looked at some of the key themes and issues for London including a look ahead to next year’s local elections.

But overwhelmingly our thoughts are with all of those impacted by the terrible fire. There are certain to be far-reaching and long-term implications, both for those who directly work in the housing and development sectors, as well as for national policy and possibly even the direction of funding for public services.

For now, we hope that you find this update useful and that our next edition is all together a brighter proposition.

As always, do let us know what you think and if you have any comments or questions you can email us via LDN@londoncommunications.co.uk. If you have not signed-up to LDN or know someone who would like to, you can subscribe via this link.
